Wideband Dual-Polarized Hollow-Waveguide Slot Array Antenna

A wideband dual-polarized slot array antenna based on hollow waveguide (HW) is presented in this article. Its wide bandwidth and high performance are enabled by two separate feeding networks, from the side bottom, using square coaxial line ridge structures, respectively. The full-corporate-feed networks excite radiation slots a one-to-one fashion without backed cavities. Tight element spacing made possible, suppressing grating lobe maintaining cross-polarization discrimination (XPD) across wideband. This resolves usual tradeoff between lobe. double-ridge rectangular cavity devised as an orthogonal mode splitter for isolation enhancement. Several design features used to minimize signal path length facilitate routing. An $8\times8$ prototype K-band designed, fabricated, measured. Experimental results show that has of 23.4% (from 17 21.5 GHz) free lobes. More than 25.5 dBi peak gain higher 51.2 dB over 43.6 XPD also obtained dual polarizations.
